Each day at the nursery includes:

-  Formal activities:  when children are involved in activities that are driven and stimulated by their teachers. Examples are: Lab activities, regular procedures to apply when entering and leaving the nursery, when eating, washing and resting.

Informal activities: when children are free to move and to play with childcare personnel supervision only. Examples are: activities within focus areas, spontaneous activities among groups of children.

STANDARD DAY DESCRIPTION

1. Arriving at the nursery: (formal activity)
Upon arrival each child executes some usual actions, thus learning how to:
-          take off his/her outdoor clothes
-          wear his/her indoor clothes
-          become more autonomous

2. Time to play: (informal activity)
After arrival, each child enters his class and starts relating with other children.
This phase is crucial since it helps the child to get over the separation from his/her parents.
